I am honored to serve as your State Senator in Springfield representing the 37th District. The district includes the counties of Bureau, Henry, Knox, La Salle, Lee, Marshall, Mercer, Peoria, Putnam, Stark, and Woodford. In January 2013, I was sworn in to a 4-year term. It is my privledge to serve you.

In an effort to keep you informed of what is happening in your State Capitol and with our campaign efforts we’ve developed this site to keep everyone updated on recent key political issues, my votes and campaign activities.

Since being appointed in February 2011, I have traveled throughout my district meeting with and listening to constituents. I have met with business owners, farmers, elected officials, community leaders, families and senior citizens. I look forward to staying in touch with you on issues that affect the 37th District and the State of Illinois.

In Springfield, I have been committed to engaging in the legislative process and with my committee assignments. I currently serve as the Lead Republican Spokesman on the Senate Licensed Activities and Pensions Committee and also serve on the Appropriations II Committee, the Insurance Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Public Health Committee.
